|Elfriede Mejchar participated in a group exhibition at the Galerie nächst St. Stephan in 1975. In 1976 - she was already over 50 - her first solo exhibition was held at the Museum of the 20th Century in Vienna.
Today, Elfriede Mejchar is considered one of Austria's most important photographers. A great number of her images can be found in scientific publications and cultural journals, and her work has been honored in countless exhibitions.
